There Are No Words

Honestly, we all have times in our lives when we are not laughing a lot, but that is why God created these people, just to put a smile on my face. I have truly never laughed so hard in my life. I then called my sister to spread the joy. There are no words to describe this. Go to Awkward Family Photos to get the full effect and be sure to read the captions. I can’t believe people would actually frame these photos. Here is just a taste…

My Favorite Person

Lenny Kravitz is definitely my favorite person in the world. I love everything about him. Anyone that knows me, knows my love for Lenny is a LARGE part of my world. Lenny played photographer for Russian Vogue. He photographed some of his closest friends and family, including his daughter Zoe, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Lionel Richie.

March Madness

I see why they call it “Madness”. It truly takes over your entire life. Once you fill out the bracket, you are committed. I do not follow each team’s season, or ANY team’s season for that matter. But once I pick my team, I upgrade my normal competitiveness factor by 100.

I decided to stick next to my boyfriend and pick Louisville as the Champion. I don’t usually choose a team just because he does, but it is nice to have someone to cheer with. Last night, we “watched” (or followed I should say) the entire 2nd half of the Texas/Duke game from my cell phone. We were refreshing my phone browser every 15 seconds, dying for Texas to pull it through. We are both from Texas, but he is a TRUE Texas boy (Houston).

I grew up in Austin, but was never that attached to Texas, which for most is unheard of. Texans are very proud. I think the disconnect may be because my parents nor aunts and uncles were from Texas. I also feel like because we grew up in the suburbs of Austin, we were never around the cool parts. People are IN LOVE with Austin. When you say you are from Austin you win big points with folks, but I just never had that same connection with the place. Also, it is a much different city when you are 16 compared to 25. If I went back to Austin today for a week vacation and did all the cool Austin stuff, I think I would fully understand the obsession.

Even with the disconnect to my hometown, I still wanted Texas to win their game and am sad they didn’t.

Go Louisville!

Random Thoughts…Loft Living, Organization, Crafts

I have always wanted to live in a cool loft apartment. The open air layout that you see in movies about a cool single girl in NYC. I just moved into an amazing apartment and am now living with my boyfriend, so my loft dreaming days are probably “ova”. But, a girl can dream. One of my favorite past-timesĀ  is taking House Tours at An awesome example of what I think of a loft apartment. They show the most amazing spaces, especially what all people can do with small spaces. They recently added DC as one of their areas of focus. They find hidden shops and great finds in the city and share them with readers.

Another daydream I have (one of 500 a day), is about having an entire room to organize as a craft studio. I enjoy doing craft projects. I do a little bit of everything, scrapbooking, paper crafts, mosaics, jewelry making. This means, I have a TON of crap. Another gift of mine, I love organizing. The simple idea of the Container Store gets me excited. I want a room or even just a closet where I can setup cubes, shelving, plastic containers and paper organizers.

I found a great craft book at Urban Outfitters, Big Ass Book of Crafts. It is perfect for those who just like to craft, it has a little bit of everything.

Ciao and Happy Crafting
